Changing Our World.
Once upon a time, Mrs. Robinson asked her Fifth Grade Social Studies/TAG class how they could be kind to others. Vanessa suggested a Middle School coat drive. With Mr. Slight’s permission, we picked up a box at Melander’s (thank you!) and began.
Our work included making an announcement for students and staff and creating posters to place around the school. The seventh grade girls helped out by decorating the collection box. We received over 70 coats, jackets and snow pants. A few teachers contributed by taking donated coats home and washing them. Most of the coats and jackets will be available to middle school students while the smaller sizes were shared with the elementary school. One student summed up the project, “It is important that we did this because it helps families that need the coats.”
